Hi everyone. This is my first post to any of the boards so thought I would check out the one on books because books are one of my favorite things. I actually just finished reading I Am a Soldier Too, and didn't really like it. This was the Jessica Lynch story, but the book wasn't as good as I thought it would be. It seemed to minimize the soldiers who were killed in the war, or at least that's what I thought. Anyway, if anyone wants to know more of my thoughts on this book, I will be happy to share.
welcome to the boards! feel free to post to any of the categories and any of us would be happy to help you
Hi Braille queen,
Nice to meet you. Books are my thing, though I'm mostly a fiction reader I like reading horror, suspense, and gothics, though gothic novels are extinct now, which I think is such a shame. I receive books on tape from nls, but it seems as if they aren't quite as good as they use to be. I'm a member of a book site called fictionwise, which sells books fairly cheap, but you read them in your choice of 10 formats. I use adobe acrobat reader, which means jaws is doing the reading. I admit, having jaws reading a thrilling collection of short horror thrillers isn't the same as a human narrator, still, I have the opportunity to read books you're not likely to find from nls. If you do ever join fictionwise, don't download any books that say secure, because your book reading software of choice won't be able to read them. Make sure any book you order says multiformat. Then if you can't read a book with microsoft reader, perhaps you can read them with adobe reader. Take care,
wonderwoman
